Han Qingshan worked all the way into the night before he finally picked up his phones from Song Liwei and went back to his condo.
He had not checked his phones before he reached home, and when he tried checking the time, he found that the phones were shut off.
Frowning, he could not help but wonder why the phone would be shut off, but after turning it on, he found that he had an unanswered call from Jiang Yingyue.
When he first saw the unanswered call, he felt a tinge of guilt, but then he felt giddy. Jiang Yingyue had called him of his own accord, and he could not wait to hear what this young woman had wanted to tell him.
Unfortunately, it was in the middle of the night so he would not be able to contact her now, and he had to wait for the next day in order to hear what he had to say.
So on the next morning, Han Qingshan rode his car to the university with excitement in his heart. He had already done everything he possibly could with the company for now, so he could fully focus on Jiang Yingyue.
Thinking like this, he sent a text to Jiang Yingyue asking her to meet up with him on the lunch break, but he never got a reply.
Seeing no reply, even as lunch was rapidly approaching, he was starting to get rather uncomfortable.
As the lunch break began, he headed to Jiang Yingyue’s classroom, deciding to meet up with her instead of waiting for a reply.
When he reached the faculty, he saw no signs of Jiang Yingyue anywhere, and he could not help but frown.
It was currently break time, so he took out his phone and tried calling her, but the phone went straight to the answering machine, indicating that the phone had been shut off.
By now, he was starting to get worried. Multiple thoughts ran around in his head. First of all, he was wondering if Jiang Yingyue had gotten mad at him for not answering last night, but knowing her personality that was not likely to happen.
Did she have some purpose for calling him then? It was hard to say. Standing still, he was unsure of what to do now, but just as he was about to go back and try investigating, a girl from the same faculty as Jiang Yingyue walked up to him.
She was one of the girls who had shipped the two of them together earlier, and seeing that Han Qingshan was here, was it not the same as saying that Jiang Yingyue was special to him?
“Prince Fengmian has not been to school today,” she said with a trembling voice. This was the first time she spoke to Young Master Shan, and she was slightly hesitant about it. But seeing him looking for Jiang Yingyue was also a shame, so she decided to gather her courage and talk to him.
Han Qingshan looked at her perplexed, before nodding his head and saying a thank you. He started heading back towards his own classroom, wondering what might have happened to Jiang Yingyue.
He could not call Hei Yi at this point in time; Hei Yi was currently working on figuring out who was backing up the Su Corporation, so he did not have time to deal with Jiang Yingyue.
Han Qingshan calmed himself down. Just because Jiang Yingyue had not appeared at University today did not mean that she was harmed, or something had gone wrong with her.
But just to make sure, he went to the house belonging to the Jiang family, only to find that no one was home.
He waited until evening came since there wouldn’t be anyone else who could inform him about what happened before Jiang Wei and Xun Huiyin arrived home.
“Aunty, uncle, what happened to Jiang Fengmian? He did not show up at University today, and he has shut off his phone.” Han Qingshan asked hurriedly, his eyes displaying his worry.
Xun Huiyin panicked slightly when she saw Han Qingshan, but she quickly calmed herself down again. Unfortunately, Han Qingshan managed to catch the worry and panic in her eyes, which made him feel even more uncomfortable.
“He had to go visit some family,” Jiang Wei said, after considering for a moment. “There was an emergency, and neither of us was capable of leaving, so we asked him to help solve it.”
Han Qingshan narrowed his eyes. He was used to seeing through people who lied to him, and he could instantly tell that this was a lie.
Still, he wanted to keep a good relationship with these two, so he did not call them out on it right now, and instead, he nodded his head as if he had understood it.
“Well then, can you tell him call me when he is available?” Han Qingshan asked. As long as he heard from Jiang Yingyue, he did not mind if she was doing something secretive. He only wanted to know that she was okay.
“We will try,” Jiang Wei answered, but he seemed somewhat hesitant. Seeing his hesitance, Han Qingshan’s chest clenched slightly. Nothing bad could have happened, right?
Seeing that he should not pressure the two parents any longer, Han Qingshan bid his farewell and left. His heart had grown uneasy, and his body restless.
It was as if he felt that something was wrong, but he could not put his finger on what it was.
Han Qingshan did not go out to eat but went straight back to the Imperial World building to work. The sooner he managed to get this under control, the sooner he could task Hei Yi with looking for Jiang Yingyue.
He buried himself in work and did not even notice when Song Liwei came by and placed some food on the desk.
It was late into the night when he stretched his back and moved from the chair. He had managed to analyze how Imperial World had been doing since Song Liwei had taken over, and although he had not done as badly as he had initially thought, many things had spiraled out of control.
